Space Environment Technologies now produces an improved version of the JB2006 indices, which is updated daily (HTML only). It is also available as a data text file using the new SOLAR2000 (SIP) application from SET.
To run the JB2006 model, you will also need the geomagnetic indices.
v3.7: First release of indices with model (December 11 2006)
v3.8: Continuous daily updates to the indices (April 23, 2007)
v3.9: Solar S10 and M10 indices corrected for long-term degradation (July 6 2007)
v3.9a: - S10 and M10 are corrected
for flares, consistency with original derivation, and long-term trend
changes (October 14, 2007).
- S10 has been set to the original
derivation values for the period January 1 1997 - August 15 2005.
- S10 starting August 16 2005 to the
current epoch uses the v3.9 trend revision to achieve a geophysical solar
minimum.
- S10 flare contaminated days (50)
are replaced by spline data (see code value in the "Ssrc" column).
- M10 beginning late 1999 has a small
divergence in the trend that grows through time. This is because the Mg II
from NOAA 16 (used as the basis for M10) needed calibration for a long-term
drift. The M10 values are now consistent for both solar minima (1996 and
2007). Daily relative variability is not affected.
